THE AIMS OF THE FOUNDATION
are to promote international awareness, tolerance in all areas of society and intercultural understanding, as well as providing development aid. These aims are accomplished partly through projects contributing to the lasting improvement of the financial, social and economic situation of poor foreign sections of the population, as well as measures to promote the care, education and vocational training of such people so as to enable them to continue these projects or improvement schemes either alone or in partnerships. The Foundation's goals are also met by carrying out measures that create the spiritual, mental, cultural and psychological basis for international understanding and peace. This includes in particular organizing and hosting get-togethers for people from differing cultural, religious and ethnic backgrounds both in Germany and abroad with the aim of developing a mutual understanding of their differences and variety while at the same time bringing out cross-cultural and peace-promoting similarities. One of the long-term objectives of the Dreyer Foundation is to set up and ensure the continued existence of meeting places in Germany and abroad. The completion of the training center and meeting house near Dano, in the sub-Saharan country of Burkina Faso, completes the first big step.
